Who? I am originally from India and I am currently a resident of Sydney, Australia, the wonderful place I now call home. While growing up, I wasn't ever into any type of out-doorsy activities or sports (except perhaps bicycling) and was mostly found hanging out in my room with a book in my hand, my big gold rimmed glasses dropping over my nose, and wearing some odd piece of clothing. I am a vegetarian, hence all the restaurants I go to will be vegetarian friendly. I am what one would describe as "quirky" and "unique" and perhaps even a little "flaky", but I sure can crack a joke and chat about music for ages!

When? In my mid-twenties, I lived in the US for a year, which was when I was bitten by the travel bug. Suddenly, all the places from my imagination started coming to life and I was struck, struck by this wonderful thing called travelling and I knew it in my bones that I could never go back to my old life again. For it had unearthed a passion in me, so intense, so flaming, no other person was more surprised than I! Suddenly, the movie-like phrases started making sense to me:
What a wonderful world it is!
Live like you are going to die tomorrow!
Travelling is the elixir of life!

What? Uncaged Explorer is my travel blog, to help expats/immigrants like me (not restricted to, of course) in Australia, find inspirations in their travels, in the new place they now call home. The blogs are mostly for places in Australia and some countries that I have visited from Australia. I am not in the cage of an avid traveller, a lazy traveller, a leisurely traveller, an occasional traveller, an adventurous traveller, a sporty traveller, a traveller who relentlessly plans every step; I love to mix and match different types of travelling, free from cages that define it, and as I always say, I experience and experiment first and then form an opinion. Travelling is not the only thing I do, I enjoy spending time at home, I love interior design and interior decorating and somedays I just want to Netflix and chill. I have incorporated travel into my life because I find inspiration from it and I can completely unwind and relax and be rejuvenated for the next couple of days!

Why? I realized that everybody around me actually liked to travel, one way or the other. Because of different stages and situations in life, family, commitments, financial means or sometimes just not being aware, not knowing that there are alternative ways to spend time, people feel limited in their options with travelling. You do not have to quit your jobs and stop your lives in order to trot all over the world. You can still love your jobs, have other hobbies, and still reap the benefits of travelling. You can go local, take short vacations over the weekends, do an adventurous hike once in a while and mix and match different types of travelling! This blog is meant for all those people to come out of their boxes and experience the joy of travelling with friends, families and individually. It is to encourage people to take their own time, make their own memories and explore places by foot and travel for the soul!
Hear it from me
