A day out on the Great Ocean Road and viewing the 12 Apostles

How I got there: I did a full day tour from the Grayline tours. This was the perfect itinerary from Melbourne for me as I only had a couple of days up my sleeve in Melbourne. The starting point of this tour was from the Melbourne City Centre.

Total duration: The entire day from 8 AM to 8 PM. The 12 Apostles are about 3 hours away from Melbourne and this tour takes you via the Great Ocean Road

Traffic light for children: Green

About the place:

The main attractions of the Great Ocean Road are of course the 12 Apostles and the lesser-known London Bridge which is near the Loch Ard George. These 3 places were the highlights of the trip.

We got to Marvel over some of Australia’s most magnificent coastal views along the famous Great Ocean Road. We also saw some wild koala bears on the trees by the road! Just looking at the massive 12 apostles was really enthralling. The long apostles are suspended structures of limestones which were naturally formed and eroded and are now suspended in the ocean. This is just classic Australian awesomeness. The London Bridge is another major attraction, it is so fascinating to watch the bridge like structure, see the ocean pouring across these natural formations.

Loch Ard George has a beautiful naturally formed beach, the steps are a little steep but the views! So wonderful. Since this was a bus tour, we spent only designated time in the places, but the tour was structured so well that we got to see a lot of places in a day. I would definitely recommend going on this one-day trip if you want to see all the places on the Great Ocean Road in a day. Otherwise, do this trip in a private vehicle and then enjoy some leisure time in all the places.
