How I got there: My friends and I drove from Sydney to Port Stephens in August and spend two days here. The drive from Sydney takes around 3.5 hours with short breaks in between.
Total duration: We got to Anna Bay, around 10 AM in the morning and spent half a day here.
Traffic light for children: Green
About the place: You would have heard about sandboarding in Egypt or sandboarding in Dubai but sandboarding in Australia? Yes, yes, and yes! It is definitely something that you must try with friends and family. There are many tour operators who offer 4WD to the sand dunes and the drive is so adventurous. The amazing lightness of sand and the smooth texture of the grains really makes it a super fun activity! Make sure to put a lot of sunscreen as it can get pretty hot up here and come prepared with your own refreshments and water as it is not available here. It is a tiring activity but so worth the while! You will not hurt yourself, even if you are unable to sand board properly, make sure you listen to the instructions to have a smooth experience and click those amazing snaps. Amateurs to kids to elder adults, suitable for all and enjoyable by all! With the ocean just beside the sand dunes, the views of sky blues against the light brown sand against the dark blue ocean is such a treat to the eyes!
