If you would have asked me if I ever thought I will do something like this a few years ago, I would have probably said No! But having the kind of year that we have all had in 2020, when the time came for my December break, I wanted to do something that would bring me a sense of calm and peace of mind. And then I thought, why not a yoga retreat? I love vegetarian food, I love nature and beach and yoga is the most relaxing type of workout one can do, let me try this retreat!

How I got there: I flew from Sydney to Ballina and took a taxi to the Byron Yoga Center, which is about 45 minutes away from the airport.
About the place: The place does live up to its expectation. And the foooodd!! Oh my! so delicious and healthy! You have a variety of vegetarian dishes served every day and amazing vegan cakes and desserts to choose from! It is absolutely incredible that just 5 minutes away from Byron City, nestled in a massive landscape spanning acres, is this peaceful and quiet place. Most of the food is organically grown in the retreat, (you can visit the gardens), the yoga sessions are just amazing, and the yoga retreat hosts and teachers are so very knowledgeable! There is a lovely mineral pool to relax in, and you can go to the city on a bike as your afternoons and evenings are free.
There is a schedule for the retreat, which you can also tailor to your needs and comfort level. If you are looking to get away from your hectic schedules and want to experience peach and tranquility for a couple of days, visit this yoga center.
