Cape Byron - Eastern most Australia!

How I got there: Cape Byron is located about 10-15 minutes’ drive away from the Byron City. We drove here a couple of time while in Byron.

Total duration: 2 hours

Traffic light for children: Green

About the place: If you google for Byron Bay, you will definitely find the lighthouse as the first search result. It is a famous point in Byron Bay, and looks really amazing, also it is situated in Cape Byron, the eastern most point of Australia. We went here in December 2020 and there were an awful number of floods just before, so we saw the angry skies and rain across the sea and marveled at the clouds here! It gets very windy at the top of the lighthouse, which itself is really huge in size. Now, I love wind blowing on my face and I am not at all fussy about my hair, so it was really fun for me! We went with a group of friends over here in an off-peak hour, on a cloudy day, so there were hardly any people and we meditated here. It gets quite busy otherwise and you would not usually find parking, but we were really lucky to get the lighthouse to ourselves on this particular day. You can do the lighthouse walk, which is really famous, quite easy, and accessible and feels like a real accomplishment, as you get to the top!

Cape Byron walking track is also a must-do, which is down the mountain and provides stunning views of a vast expanse of the beach that you can see from the viewpoint and on a sunny day, it sure will make your day! There are many Byron Bay beaches that you can visit, including the main beach, it is known for its blue waters and surfing.
