Daydream Island - Slice of paradise on Whitsundays, QLD!

Getting there...

Daydream Island is one of the 74 islands of the Whitsundays! Getting to Whitsundays is quite a journey from Sydney as its very very far off! We took a flight to the Hamilton Island, QLD from Sydney which was around 2 hours 20 minutes in length. We then took a ferry ride to Daydream island which is a good and wonderful 30-40 minutes away. As soon as your flight lands on the Hamilton Island, you know you're in for a treat! It is a tiny airport with impeccable views of the ocean! And when you get to Daydream island, you will be mind-blown by the views!

Suitable for kids?... Yes, Yes and Yes!

About Daydream Island...

Daydream Island resort is about a kilometer in length, a tiny island resort but what a beauty! It boasts of everything that Whitsundays is all about - luxury, blue waters, reefs and tropical vibes! As soon as you get to the island, you are greeted by the staff who give you a necklace made of shells and you immediately get sucked into the island vibes.

Waterfall on the island

The resort itself is a great way to spend a good couple of days, offering you entertainment, beaches, walks and amazing amazing sunsets! The resort also contains a living reef that you can experience and immerse yourself into! The magnificent reefs and the colourful marine ecosystem that is contained in it! From fish to rays to sharks to starfish to algae, the 200 meter wonder surrounds the island resort, offering you some great education on life that is found in the ocean.

Sunsets at Lover's Cove

The pools are an amazing treat to the eyes and the heart, especially for kids, stretching long and wide, almost into the ocean! The sunsets at Lover's Cove is breathtaking! You can snorkel near the reefs here and take a kayak out into the ocean! You also can witness pretty good sunrises, with wild wallabies running about everywhere!

Sunrise on the island

The best part of Daydream island is that it is not too far away from Airlie Beach, where all the reef activities and heli tours begin and neither is it so crowded that you feel you are in a noisy touristy spot. It is the perfect balance between proximity and luxury and wonderfulness and provides one of the best and slightly more affordable getaway in Whitsundays!
