How I got there: Our cruise started at Aswan, there are many cruise ships that begin in Aswan and end in Luxor.
Total duration: This was 2-night 3 days cruise.
Traffic light for children: Green
About the place: Our Nile cruise began from Aswan, stopping at Esna, Edfu, Kom Ombo and ending at Luxor. Firstly, let me start off with the FOOD! What amazing dishes Egypt has! This country has the most underrated food in the world! It is suitable for vegetarians; the spices are so flavorful and you have so many varieties of food. Koshari is one of their staple foods which consist of rice and pasta mixed together with spices. The ingredients used in the foods would sure make your mind completely rattled, how can such mixed ingredients create something so flavourful! You get to see sunsets in one of the longest rivers in the world, the Nile river, whilst passing by quaint villages! No other words necessary! In the night we attend a beautiful sound and light show in El Karnak temple which is a beautiful open air show which explains the tales of the people of Egypt, the kings and Pharaohs! Massive monumental structures which leave you flabbergasted!
If you go to Egypt and do not do the Nile cruise, you are MISSING SOMETHING IN LIFE! This cruise is home to the biggest open-air museum in the world! Apart from visiting amazing temples of Crocodile God of fertility, and Haroeris, the hawk headed god of the Underworld, you get to go to VALLEY OF KINGS AND QUEENS!
Have you ever played video games like Temple Run and got lost in ancient valleys and temples, multiply that by around 20000 times, you have this Valley! As soon as you get there, you instantly get lost in the dry and mystique mountain air. There are so many mysterious hidden tales in this place. Tales of forgotten kings, tales of the ancient curses they used, tales of those curses still being there. You get overwhelmed and probably even a bit fearful when you think about all those stories. The tomb of Tutunkhamun and the curse of the pharaohs with the strange mystery that surrounds it, that even scientists and archeologists have not been able to explain ill date, sure leaves you feeling mystified. You get to walk inside the tombs, view the well-preserved mummies and the sarcophagus (The beautifully adorned stone coffins carved in a highly recognizable way that you would have seen).Every place in Egypt blew me out but this was FFFFFFARRRRR OUTTT!
