How I got there: It takes about 2.5 to 3 hours to get here from Hoi An and we took a local bus to get here.
Total duration: One entire day
Traffic light for children: Green
About the place: I had seen photos of this bridge and had it in my must-see list in Vietnam, so I ensured that there was a day free to do this bridge and the French Village in my itinerary. The Hand Bridge, as I call it, was really worth the wait time to get there. It is actually made of fiber glass and it almost looks suspended in the air because of the clouds and since its so high up in the air. You get here via the rope way; this is the first stop. Then you go further up the ropeway to the village.
Gardens and an exotic French village nestled amongst clouds and set deep up the mountains sounded so romantic when I first heard about it. And it is just that! It is cloudy because it is a hill station, and you can only see far below once the clouds have cleared up. The rope way to get to the French village is the longest in the world and it is so wonderful! Make sure to carry an umbrella as it can drizzle here. There are also many people who visit this place, so get in early in the morning to avoid crowds. Atop the French village, which is actually a theme park, there are many activities and rides that you can go in, but some of the outdoor rides were closed due to the weather. For me just walking in the village was the best experience. The replica French architecture feels so real, and because of the clouds it adds that extra element. There are also Buddhist temples here and just the mix of French and Asian cultures is so rewarding to watch here, that too with the views so surreal! When I first caught sight of the French village while on the ropeway, I felt like a fairy princess, going into her castle. Apart from the temples and buildings, there are also many French delicacies available to eat here, and some of them are served in the old buildings, giving it that far off look.
Awesome
