Grand Canyon Walking Track in the Blue Mountains

How I got there: We drove to Evans’s lookout which is the starting point of the Grand Canyon loop walking track. The drive was about 1.5 hours from Westerns Sydney.

Total duration: The walk takes around 4 hours to complete, with breaks in between and is a loop track, which means you do not end up going back the same way that you got in.

Traffic light for children: Red

About the place: This walk is a very well-known track which takes you past lush greenery, rock crevices, waterfalls, and caves. I believe it is given the name "Grand Canyon" because from the top, it looks like the Grand Canyon with massive rocks stretching for miles on end. Having been to the Grand Canyon in the US, I can say that once you start the walk, it is incredibly unique to Australia and nothing like the US.

You get to see a lot of amazing hidden waterfalls, you get to walk behind the waterfalls, rock crevices and there are even many steps that have been carved into cave entrances and you get to go into dark caves, which is an adventure in itself. It’s a very adventurous walk with every scenery encountered being unique to itself. The native wild plants make a great sight for your viewing pleasure and the rocks look almost green. It is a very shaded walk, if I may say so, with the shade from trees giving it a natural oasis feeling. A really good day to spend your morning either with your friends or partner or even take that plunge to do a solo walk. I have done a lot of walking trails in the blue mountains but this one is incredibly unique in itself and nothing like the other walks in the region.
