Hahndorf - German settlement village, South Australia

Getting there...Hahndorf is a pretty little town nestled away in the midst of Adelaide Hills.I would recommend the best way to travel here is by foot. Get a bus from Adelaide city to Hahndorf, get down and walk in here. My husband and I did just that and went here in June, in the middle of winter, and spent about half a day here in Hahndorf.

Autumn leaves everywhere...

Amongst the shops and lanes...

Green light for kids? Yes, Yes and Yes!

About the place...The autumn leaves were still intact on trees and painted the whole town red. The bus journey, which takes you about an hour and half is very memorable and picturesque. Driving away amongst green hills drenched in fresh rain and brimming with life.

Little shops all around town...

You immediately get the vibe that this is a German Settlement, the bars and pubs have a lot of German beer and pretzels and the little candy shops have a lot of toffee and fudge. There are sweet little vintage shops in here, where I bought some really good antiques that now adorn my walls. I especially enjoyed visiting the shops, learning about German heritage and drinking some really good soup.
