How I got there: We went to Halong Bay via a car from Hanoi, which was almost a 3-hour journey and did a cruise over here.

About the place: As soon as you get to this place, you will be mesmerized by the emerald waters! You would wonder where they get the colour from, something that I have not seen before! Halong Bay has huge limestone isles in various shapes and structures just strayed across the bay. They almost look suspended in the water. There are so many giant structures, the cruise just meanders through these structures and in one particular place, there is a cave where you can go in a boat from your ship.
You can also kayak here, which was really wonderful. Waking up to the huge structures grazing past you, was really mesmerizing. There are thousands of these structures, and it is home to some rare flora and fauna. There are many travel agents that do these tours for you and learning about these structures whilst skivvying past them makes for a memorable visit.
