How I got there: We drove here from Western Sydney. We always saw lush green trees and landscape whenever we drove by the Illawarra region, and wanted to see what was in there.
Total duration: The Treetop Walk is around a 1.5km loop track through the Illawarra rainforest with 500 meters of steel walkway nestled in the treetop canopy, around 20-30 meters above the ground. It should take you about 1 hour for the walk if you stop and leisurely enjoy the views.
Traffic light for children: Yellow
About the place: Boy, we were not disappointed! Hidden amongst gum trees is this amazing place. Illawarra Fly Tree Top is a great way to spend with family or friends. This is also the home for Australia's highest Zipline. The 360-degree views offer amazing scenery of the trees and you can even see lake Illawarra from here. There is a spiral stairway which leads on top of a tower, you might feel giddy climbing on top of it if you do not like heights, but the views are totally worth it!
