How I got there: On our way to Thredbo from Sydney, we stopped by Jindabyne as we were mesmerized by the scenic views of Lake Jindabyne. Jindabyne is about a half hour drive from Thredbo and the drive from Western Sydney to Thredbo can take around 6-7 hours with short breaks in between.
Total duration: There are short walking trails less than1 km available in this park by the lake.
Traffic light for children: Green
About the place: Sir Paul Edmund Strzelecki Monument is situated by the lake with lovely views of the lake and you can even swim here. For us it was more of a stop over from the drive from Sydney. There are nice benches where you can sit and relax and watch the sunset. We travelled here in January and spent some time just looking at the lovely lake.
