How I got there: We drove from our home in Western Sydney to Maroubra Beach on a Sunday afternoon in the summer.
Total duration: The drive from Western Sydney to Maroubra Beach takes about an hour during weekends. Finding a parking spot is a challenge. You might have to park your car about 1 km away and walk to the beach if you do not find a parking spot. We spend about 2-3 hours in the beach.
Traffic light for children: Green
About the place: Like any other Sydney beaches, the colour of this beach on a sunny day is simply amazing. There are many rocks near the shore which gives it an raw appeal. There are many people who visit Maroubra beach, and the water is really clear. When you swim in the designated swimming areas, there are not many seaweeds that come your way, which makes it easy to hang around in the water for a couple of hours. There are also some restaurants near the beach if you want to stop by for a quick drink or an ice cream in the summer. The beach is pretty big so take your umbrellas and your sun hats and swimsuits!
