How I got there: The drive to Coff’s Harbour from Sydney is about 6 hours towards Northern NSW, on the way to the Gold Coast. We stayed in Coff’s Harbour for a day before heading to the Gold Coast.
Total Duration: We spent about 3-4 hours in the Muttonbird Island and by the marina and the beach nearby.

About the place: This is a beautiful island and the walk up to the top of the island takes about 30 minutes, it’s a little steep but the views are ever so amazing! You can see the wonderful marina from the top and the ocean stretching far, far away! And spectacular views of the Solitary Islands! If you are lucky and go there in the whale season, you can watch the whales, but weren’t that lucky though!
Generally, the island is not very crowded, we have visited this island twice and my husband and I felt like we had the island to ourselves this time! There are beautiful benches at the top where you can relax and even walking towards the island is a thrilling experience. What I also really liked is chilling by the marina after our walk to the island and back!
