Silos Estate and Winery in Berry, NSW

How I got there: While driving back from Jervis Bay, my husband and I decided to spend a day in Berry, as this was on the way home to Sydney. This estate was the first stop on our way home, and I would say it took us about 20 minutes to get here from Nowra, where we were staying. But if travelling from Sydney, it takes over 2 hours to get here.

About the place: Silos is one of the top google search results that you get for Berry and it sure does live up to its expectations. What attracted me to this place was the alpacas. I wanted to see alpacas, they are such cute creatures, with their stout legs, long necks, and small smiley faces. And this estate has about 10 alpacas. You can see them in the paddock whilst driving to the main entrance, and they were looking at me so curiously, I was overjoyed to see them.

Let me now tell you about this estate. Vast expanse of green grasslands and vineyards with a gazebo and a lake in the center (and cherry on top, the alpacas). This estate looks very pretty, and you can easily spend half a day here. There is also a wine tasting available here, the tour runs for around 45 minutes, however my husband and I opted to have a glass of wine instead and have their amazing locally sourced cheese platter to enjoy outside in their gardens. We enjoyed the wine and cheese and spent an hour just walking around the estate.

On a bright summer day, it looks so green! Sure, does blow your mind. Do visit this estate if you want to have a wine and cheese tasting tour or just to walk around and spend time in the estate.
