How I got there: We drove from Sydney to Port Stephens and visited nearby places here. Soldiers point is about 8 km drive from Nelson Bay.
Total duration: We spent about an hour here, just to sit and watch the sunsets.

About the place: Another stunning and underrated places near Port Stephens is the Soldiers Point Marina. It is not that obvious to get here as you put Soldiers Point on the maps and then have drive towards the very end of the road where you get to see something that looks like the end of the world! A dead end, leading straight into the backwaters, merging east and west. What a wonderful place to sit by the rocks and watch the sunset. Once you get into this vast expense of space, the boats against the backdrop of sunsets look straight out of a picture. You should plan and time your day such that you land here to watch the sunset and then you can head straight to dinner in Nelson Bay.
