Summer Bliss in Okiato - Airbnb New Zealand (North Island)

I believe that Airbnbs are the perfect getaway havens. You go to someone's home as a guest, and you suddenly realise that sometimes it is normal everyday people letting you stay in their actual homes and they are so proud of it and proud of being hosts. I love staying in airbnbs and meeting the hosts and looking to see how they've maintained the homes and decorated them in their individualistic styles. The Summer Bliss in Okiato, near Russell in New Zealand's Bay of Islands was one such quaint little cottage we stayed at where we met the most amazing hosts ever. They were standing on the doorstep of their cottage, ready to receive us, and were so proud of their cottage that we were touched. It was a very tidy cottage, decorated in 60s style with a bedroom, kitchen and dining and living, but also with very modern amenities like high speed wifi, AC, etc. and moreover the views from the cottage were to die for! You could see the Bay of Islands and the sea looked ever so wonderful! There was also a beautiful private beach a few blocks away and we had so much fun waking up to these views, walking to the beach and enjoying our teas and sunsets in the cottage during the few days that we stayed here in the summer. We spent an entire day hanging out at the cottage because it felt so relaxing and had such a wonderful vibe to it. Check out this place if you want to relax in the Bay of Islands for a couple of days. This place is also very close to the car ferry from Paihia in Northland and is the start of beautiful walks to Russell.
