How I got there: We drove to Berrima from Western Sydney and spend a day in one of the beautiful estates over there. For more information on the estate I visited, take a look at my Lochanside Estate post.
Total duration: The drive takes about 1.5 - 2 hours from Western Sydney and we spend almost an entire day just in Berrima.
Traffic light for children: Green
About the place: This is one of the most well-preserved historical Georgian places in Australia. Situated in Southern Highlands, which is one of my most favorite non-beach places in NSW, this place sure made my heart skip a beat. I love the1800s era and my imagination started coming to life. All the books that I'd read of my favorite authors, Jane Austin and Emily Bronte, started to come to life in front of my eyes. The best way to explore Berrima is by foot. Explore every shop, do the Berrima Heritage Walk, visit the Berrima Courthouse museum, attend the sound and light show. The shops are also very cute, you have the Hand Stirred Jam Shop, (the name itself sounds so romantic), the lolly shop, Mrs. Oldbuck's Pantry and so many more. Go to all the streets and look at the beautiful architecture. You will find heritage houses that were built in1800s and restored and it is all surrounded by lush green surroundings. This soon became one of my most favorite places in the Southern Highlands.
