Two days in Kangaroo Island, South Australia

Getting there...From Adelaide city, it takes almost 3 hours to get to Kangaroo Island. It is a 1.5 hours drive to Cape Jervis from Adelaide City, the bus ride being a beautiful one. And from Cape Jervis, the ferry ride is 45 minutes to Penneshaw, the town centre of Kangaroo Island. As we stayed in Sea Dragon Resort, the drive to the resort was about 45 minutes from Penneshaw.

Traffic light for kids... Green!!

About the place...As soon as you land into Kangaroo Island, the scenic beauty hits you like lightening. I was very surprised, I did not expect Kangaroo Island to be this vast, it is 7 times that of Singapore! And i did not expect it to be this untouched, raw and filled with wilderness beauty. The paths to get everywhere are rough, not your usual roads but muddy wild roads. I'll first talk about where we stayed.

Sea Dragon Island

This luxurious place that we stayed in is one of the best places I've ever stayed in. Our view from the Sea Front Facing villa was one to die for! Wild kangaroos everywhere, the sea in all its mighty glory and the villa that was so cozy and wonderful! From stacking the most delicious bread and breakfast to the rooms to the bathroom, it screamed luxury. Add on a hot tub facing the sea, you got yourself a perfect vacation! Here are some pictures from the villa...

Seal Bay Conservation Park

Departing from Sea Dragon at approximately 9.00 am, our day of adventure began by travelling west across the island towards the first stop, Seal Bay Conservation Park. Seal Bay Conservation Park is home to the endangered Australian sea lion. With only an estimated 12,000 sea lions left in the world, Seal Bay is the third largest colony of this species.

Admirals Arch

Admirals Arch is one of Kangaroo Island's most impressive natural landmarks. It took thousands of years of erosion to create this rock bridge near the Cape du Couedic Lighthouse on the island's southwest coast. The boardwalk leading to the arch is nearly as scenic as the landmark itself. Here's a visual tour of the arch from my eyes...

Remarkable Rocks

Remarkable Rocks as the name implies is really really remarkable. It's almost as if someone came in and carved these massive rocks thousands of years ago. Most unusual, pig shaped rocks, orange shade of colour on the rocks, and amazing shades of blue surround this amazing beauty on Kangaroo Island. Do not miss this when you go to Kangaroo Island!
