How I got there: We drove to Hunter Valley and stayed in Broke for 2 days. On one of the mornings, we went to Oakvale Wines, as this was recommended by one of the staff from Saddles, Mt. White. This Cellar is about 10 minutes from Pokolbin. Refer to my post on Saddles below:

About the place: We spent around 2 hours in here, had some amazing wines for tasting and we were out in the sun, sitting on stools with a rustic barrel as our table and a wonderful firepit by our side.
The wines are very tasty here, they even have wines that taste like cocktails. For $5, you get a selection of 8 delicious wines for tasting, and to spice it up, you can pre-order their selection of wonderful cheese in a platter. What I loved about the wine tasting experience here is that their staff explained the various types of foods to pair with the wines. This was really interesting as you could see how it all made sense, mixing different palettes with different wines and how that would make a difference. The vineyard is surrounded by mountains and greenery. Since we went during peak winter, the vineyards were pretty dry and the vines were already harvested. Nevertheless, I would definitely recommend this experience during winter, sipping wine by the firepit and just basking in the winter sun!
